Know ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, the undersigned Chief and Princi- pal Men of the Capalano Band of Indians resident on our reserve at Capalano Creek, in the Province of British Golumbia and Dominion of Canada, for and acting on behalf of the whole people of our said Band in council assembled, do hereby release, remise, surrender, quit claim and yield up unto Our, Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her heirs and successors forever, all and singular the mining rights under that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate, lying and being in the Capalano Creek, in the Province of British Columbia, containing by admeasurement five hun- dred and eighteen acres, be the same more or less, and being composed of the Capalano Indian Reserve, near the first Narrows, Burrard Inlet ; together with all the mining privileges necessary for the proper working and extracting from the ground and carriage of the minerals or coal off the reserve, and also with the per- mission to erect and maintain buildings and other structures necessary for the pro- secution of mining the said minerals or coal. To have and to hold the said minerals and coal unto Her said Majesty the Queen, Her heirs and successors forever, in trust, to dispose of the same to such person or persons and upon such terms as the Government of the Dominion of Canada may deem most conducive to our welfare and that of our people. And upon the further condition that all moneys received from the. disposal thereof shall, after deducting the usual proportion for expenses of management, be placed to our eredit, and the interest thereon paid to us and our descendants forever.
