TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same unto Her said Majesty Tur Queen, her Heirs and Successors forever, in trust to lease the same to such person or persons, and upon such terms as the Government of the Dominion of Canada may deem most conducive to our welfare and that of our people. Know att Men sy THESE Presents, THAT WE, the undersigned Chief and Principal men of The Temiscaminge Band of Indians resident on our Reserve at Temiscamingue, Township of Temiscaminge. in the County of Pontiac in the Pro- vince of Quebee and Dominion of Canada, for and acting on behalf of the whole people of our said Band in Council assembled, Do hereby release, remise, surrender, quit claim and yield up unto OuR SoverricN Lapy THE QuEEN, her Heirs and Successors forever; ALL AND SINGULAR, that certain parcel or tract of land and premises, situate, lying and being in the Township of Temiscaminge in the County of Pontiac and Province of Quebec, containing by admeasurement be the same more or less and being composed of part of Lot No. 18, shown on the plan of the Indian Holdings in the said Township of Temiscaminge, which is an Indian Reserve, described as follows:—Commencing at the point of intersection of the surveyed road leading from the River des Quinze into the said Reserve with the westerly shore of said River and at the Northeasterly side of said road boundary, at what is known as the “ Post Landing”; and extending in a Northerly direction to a point on the road now travelled opposite to the S.E. corner of the Log building used as a carpenter’s shop, near to the residence of Mr. Angus McBride, and at a distance of 52 feet from said carpenter’s shop, thence Easterly a distance of 32 feet, thence Southward and parallel to the foregoing first described line to the said River des Quinze, thence Westerly along said river bank to the point of commencement. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same unto Her said Majesty Tue Queen, her Heirs and Successors forever, in trust to sell the same to such person or persons, and upon such terms as the Government of the Dominion of Canada may deem most con- ducive to our welfare and that of our pecple. AND upon the further condition that all moneys received from the sale thereof, shall, after deducting the usual proportion for expenses of management, be placed to our eredit and the interest thereon paid to us and our descendants annually, or semi- annually as to the Department of Indian Affairs may seem best in our interest AND WE, the said Chief and Principal men of the said Temiscamingue Band of Indians do on behalf of our people and for ourselves, hereby ratify and confirm, and promise to ratify and confirm, whatever the said Government may do, or cause to be lawfully done, in connection with the sale of said land and the disposition of the moneys arising therefrom.
