Vicrorta, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen, Defender of the Faith, We., GGsy GEC: | To all to whom these Presents shall come.—Greeting : Whereas The Right Honourable Sir John Alexander Macdonald, Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Member of Our Privy Council as Superin- tendent-General of Indian Affairs, hath contracted and agreed for the absolute purchase of the lands and tenements hereinafter mentioned and described at and for the price or sum of five hundred and seventy dollars of lawful money of Canada, and of which lands we are seized in right of Our Crown. Now Kyow YE, that in consideration of the said sum of five hundred and seventy dollars well and truly paid to Our use, at or before the sealing of these Our letters patent, We have granted and by these presents do grant unto the said The Right Honourable Sir John Alexander Macdonald, Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Member of Our Privy Council, as Superintendent General of Indian Affairs, and to successors in office, in trust for the sole use and benefit of the Oneida Indians of the River Thames, all that parcel or tract of land situate, lying and being in the Township of Delaware, in the County of Middlesex, in the Province of Ontario, containing by admeasurement one hundred and ninety acres, be the same more or less, which said parcel or tract of land may be otherwise known as follows, that is to say, being composed of lot number twenty-three in Concession B of the said Township of Delaware. To HAVE AND TO HOLD the said parcel or tract of land, hereby granted, unto the said The Right Honourable Sir John Alexander Macdonald, Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Member of Our Privy Council, as Superintendent General of Indian Affairs, and to successors in office, in trust for the sole use and benefit of the Oneida Indians of the River Thames ; saving, excepting and reserving nevertheless unto Us, Our heirs and successors, the free uses, passage and enjoyment of, in, over and upon all navigable waters that shall or may be hereafter found on, or under, or be flowing through or upon any part of the said parcel or tract of land hereby granted as aforesaid.
